Here is an example of my latest creation. I designed this dress with a couple of aspects in mind. First, I like to be comfortable in the clothes I wear. This dress is poncho-shaped. It is wide but once gathered with a belt, it drapes nicely along the body's natural shape. The sleeves are wide and easy to move around in. They frame the shoulders and sit freely on the arms. Second, I love colors and patterns. But I don't like for clothes to overwhelm the wearer - there needs to be balance between the silhouette and the busysiness of the fabric pattern. I opted to use a lovely intricate pattern that works well for work and for leisurely activities, such as summer parties. I am excited about this design. I like the combo of the oversized silhouette with the intricate pattern of the fabric. Do you like maxi dresses? What do you look for when you go shopping for one? Let me know! |
I am short. But I like long dresses. It is almost impossible for me to buy one at a store without having to shorten it (and I am talking several inches ...) or adjust the fit on the top. So ... Since I love designing dresses, I started making maxi dresses that fit me!
