My August was filled with adventures. I got to travel to Prague, Czech Republic, and Edinburgh, Scotland. And as always, wherever I go, I seek art. Edinburgh is the home to the Scottish National Gallery so I was at the right place!
The Gallery is located on The Mound in Edinburgh's center in a neoclassical building designed by William Henry Playfair. It first opened to the public in 1859.
I wandered to the Gallery on a windy afternoon (not surprising for Scotland!) and loved the beautifully arranged galleries. And who knew? Bright red and blue walls bring out the art, not overwhelm it.
You can read about the full collection here, but I would like to share with you my favorite paintings. Scroll down.
If you find yourself in this striking city, make it a point to walk through the hall of the Scottish National Gallery. You will be surrounded by beautiful art!
