Many of my RADOST scarf designs begin outdoors. A flower catches my eye, sunlight lands on a leaf in a particular way, or a surprising color combination appears in the garden. Those moments find their way into my artwork and eventually into my scarves. It feels fitting to photograph them back among the plants and flowers that inspired them, completing a creative circle from nature and back to nature.
Butterflies have long fascinated me, both for their beauty and for what they symbolize. One of my favorite butterfly facts is that they taste with their feet. When a butterfly lands on a flower, special sensors on its feet help it determine whether the plant is a good source of food. I love that such a delicate creature experiences the world in a way so different from our own. This butterfly-inspired RADOST scarf is a small celebration of nature's creativity and wonder.
These RADOST scarves began as a joyful afternoon spent painting tiny hearts with my niece. As we worked, we talked about family and friends. Those hearts eventually became part of a scarf design, carrying our conversation into a wearable piece of art. Every time I see these patterns, I am reminded that some of life's most delightful moments begin with creating something together.
