New class at CREATE Arts Center in Silver Spring, MD, on March 25! Mark Rothko is one of the most influential abstract painters. In this workshop, we will review the concepts behind his large-scale paintings and then create colorful pieces of our own inspired by his passion for colors. Our medium – unlike Rothko’s paintings – will be watercolor paints on yupo paper. Yupo is a synthetic paper made of polypropylene; it is completely non-absorbent. It’s so cool! No experience is necessary in this class as you explore the exciting interaction of colors and geometric shapes in abstract compositions. Sign up here.
