My first art course through Artivate, a non-profit arts-in-education organization based in Silver Spring, is completed. I am humbled and so appreciate this opportunity a variety of art projects to women in a local jail. My students experimented with watercolors during a four-week workshop. We looked at realism and appreciated abstract art. We chatted about Claude Monet and let Mark Rothko inspire us. We painted a lovely landscape and created a colorful flower composition. Words gave us inspiration for a set of abstract paintings. A lot of creative spirit was enjoyed in a short time!
