I am so grateful to teach a variety of art workshops at retirement communities in the Rockville/Bethesda area. I have met so many interesting people; it's been a humbling and energizing experience. Today's class took place at an assisted living with my students having all kinds of skills levels during our painting project. An individual couldn't talk anymore but enjoyed the process. Another individual couldn't walk and had limited arm mobility. And yet another student needed detailed guidance on colors and where and how to paint. Lesson learned? All people can make art no matter where they are in their life.
