Femme Fatale DC Pop-Up Shop Returns and Expands to NoMa Neighborhood
Popular “womyn”-focused collective announces new location and opening date
Washington, DC (September 26, 2017) - Yasmin Radbod, owner of Femme Fatale DC, is pleased to announce the return of her pop-up shop. The highly popular collective of local “womyn" creatives and entrepreneurs will re-emerge next month with the newest version of the shop in the NoMa neighborhood. The unique spelling of “women” signifies the collective’s belief that each woman is completely whole on her own.
The return of the retail/incubator/event space experience follows the success of FFDC’s previous pop-up shop which debuted this past spring in the H Street NE neighborhood. This time around, FFDC has expanded its wings and worked closely with the NoMa BID Business Improvement District to find a new home at 100 Florida Ave NE (formerly Union Social). Boasting nearly 4,500 square feet of retail space, the shop lies at the foot of Elevation apartment building and will be open through the holiday season.
FFDC will feature more than 50 local womyn owned businesses including fashion designers, visual artists, ceramists, jewelry designers, boutiques, vegan chefs, health and wellness curators and more. Shoppers and fans will be able to visit the pop-up Tuesdays -through Saturdays from 11:00 am- to 8:00 pm and for special events on Sundays through December 24. Vendors include The Working Beauty - vintage style consultant; wallet and handbag designer Aeren Waters; Lalalu Mexican Art - Mexican jewelry designer; Glaminizers - vegan cosmetics line; maker Nosh Bar - vegan raw energy bars; and much more!
Since the concept’s debut in October 2016, Radbod and her team have created a number of events and the most recent pop-up shop to work with more than 70 local womyn entrepreneurs. Their services include creating short-term affordable retail space, fostering an encouraging community of womyn entrepreneurs, hosting free small business management workshops, curating several events by womyn for the entire community, and providing affordable access to their photography studio. With this new shop, they look forward to serving even more womyn entrepreneurs and helping them connect with even more of the surrounding DC community.
To celebrate the opening, Femme Fatale DC will host an invite-only media and blogger preview and reception on Tuesday, October 10, and a public, womyn-only reception on Wednesday, October 11. Those interested in attending the public event on Oct 11th can purchase $10 early bird tickets at femmefataledc.com; media interested in attending may RSVP at [email protected]. On Thursday, October 12, Femme Fatale DC’s doors will open for regular business hours and all are welcome.
