Today's private class was a lot of fun. I had this idea in mind ... my student and I would cover the basic techniques in watercolor painting and then apply them to a classic scene of Dutch tulips inspired by a painting by Claude Monet. Well ... it's Halloween ... so, it didn't go the classic way! My student took the painting and turned it all scary. Bright tulip field become a dried out meadow. A bright windmill was deserted. What a cool interpretation! And we played some more and instead of bright bouquet of tulips, we ended up with an Addams Family still life ... Dark background, blue tulips ... Morticia Addams would be proud! Let's see what happens during our next class!
