What a fun class today at a retirement community in Rockville, MD. I like when my students do not listen to me. Yes, I said 'do not'. I come in to classes with examples of art work and provide guidance on how to use watercolors to achieve certain effects. But my favorite is when my students do whatever they want. Today, we painted a lovely blooming sunflower. And each of my student did something completely different from the person sitting next to them! We had yellow sunflowers. We had blue sunflowers. We had purple and pink and green sunflowers ... A student told me, "I love this class." I do too.
