I taught a watercolor class on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Ingleside retirement community in Rockville, MD. I work with independent living residents and with individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia. Yesterday's class was a wonderful mix. A resident, who has known about my classes for a long time but was hesitant to come, finally joined in on the fun and kept telling me how much fun she was having! She regretted waiting this long - she worried she could not paint. Another student, one with Alzheimer's disease, delved into the task and just loved it. She painted the most colorful bouquet of tulips. So many stories, so much fun in class. This is why I teach: to bring joy to people's lives. Thank you for having me, Ingleside!
