I am so fortunate to lead a variety of art workshops in the Kensington area. Teaching is just so fun; I get to meet people from all over with the most interesting life stories. Art can be such a vehicle for connection. Well, let's take a quick look at three classes I taught in the past two days ...
First, let's hop over to an independent living community in Rockville where we explored florals in watercolors on yupo. Yupo is just such a cool medium! My students sketched their own floral compositions and then played around in colorful watercolors.

Second, moving onto a watercolor class at an assisted living community. My students chatted the workshop away. Oh my, they laughed and had a blast. Each student worked on their own piece: some reached out for a city, others enjoyed a sailing scene.
Third, let's take a peak at artworks created at VisArts in Rockville, MD, during "Abstract Art: Inspired by Poetry" where we studied up on Mary Oliver and used her poems as inspiration for abstract watercolors. Let's see what the next several days bring ... A lot of art, I promise!
