My student received a pad of translucent yupo and watercolors as a gift for the holidays last year. When she comes over for her class, she never knows what the day's project will be. Surprise is a lovely way to let the mind stay in the moment and come up with creative solutions. Today, we took her yupo and painted an 8-piece abstract composition only using geometric shapes (e.g., circles, squares, triangles). Nothing planned. Everything magical.
