What a delightful way to spend the day! I got to teach two art classes. I am always energized by meeting new people and introducing them to fun ways to create art. My first class was at a retirement community in Rockville. A group of 10 residents - in their 80s and 90s - learning about figure painting. Some of them came in saying, "I have never done this!" and ended up leaving with, "This was fun!". We worked in watercolor on yupo paper - what a cool medium - and each students ended up with a unique piece of art.
My second class took place at VisArts. Again, working in watercolor but this time in an abstract manner. Teaching "Abstract Art: Watercolor Collage" is one of my favorite as I love abstraction and colors. This class has a unique approach to collaging and I invite you to check out VisArt's July calendar for more.
